Let's Build It!

When we started Lost Creek Farm, we had a dream to share story-rich mountain food traditions with visitors from near and far away. We’ve certainly made some headway, but there’s so much more to do. That’s why we launched a crowdfunding campaign to help us build the on-farm kitchen and culinary classroom we need!

Our campaign has raised over $75,000, but there’s still work to do!

We’re really proud of what you all have helped us accomplish so far––from being featured on Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and in The New York Times, to receiving a James Beard Award nomination and launching the popular Farm & Forage Supper Club. In the last couple of years alone, we’ve shared meals and stories at our farmhouse with guests from almost 40 states and several countries. We always look forward to gathering folks at the Lost Creek Farm table, but can we be honest for a second? It’s hard work without a proper kitchen to call our own.

To prepare for each event, we’re required to cook in a certified commercial kitchen, which we don’t have on site. For several days each week, we work out of a rental kitchen 30 minutes away. The constant back-and-forth travel takes a lot out of us and drastically limits what we can offer at Lost Creek Farm.

By expanding and upgrading our current farmhouse kitchen to meet commercial certification, we can keep our operations on site and make space for the culinary classroom we’ve always envisioned. We’ll host more dining events and offer more on-farm educational experiences to our community. We’ll give more stability to our hardworking staff and the dozens of  local farms we already support. We’ll be able to put more time into building community around our culinary and agricultural traditions, and making the Lost Creek Farm guest experience even better!

Can we count on you to help us raise $200,000 in 2024?

We’ve raised $75,000 so far, and your support helped us win a $100,000 prize in the Hayhurst Invitational pitch competition! But as we prepare to break ground facing sky-high construction costs, every contribution helps! On top of construction itself, there are other other major expenses––site prep, road grading, septic installation, equipment, and utility hookup, to name a few––which add up quickly.

The more we raise, the easier it is to offset high construction costs and prioritize using the space as a community learning resource.

Explore our incentive-packed donation tiers below, or simply chip in at an amount of your choosing. However you support us, whether that’s making a contribution or simply spreading the word, we truly appreciate it.

Thanks so much for your support. Let’s build it!

$60: An original blockprint poster

Receive a signed, hand-printed 11” x 14” blockprint poster. When we moved to the farm, we uncovered quite an array of vintage cast-iron skillets of many sizes. We still cook with them, and Mike used this epic find as inspiration for one of his original hand-carved linocuts. Shipping within the United States is included! Posters will ship starting in late-July.
